Paver driveway rebuild

I have had two paver driveways redone to accommodate the growth of existing trees. Fidel and crew did beautiful work. They completely pulled up the pavers, reconfigured the level, and placed every paver back with great care. I can’t recommend this company enough for their great work.

We had Western Paver and Design redo our backyard, including a retaining wall and extending our patio to create more usable outdoor space and it turned out absolutely perfect! It’s been two years since the project was completed, and everything still looks exactly like the day it was finished. Wonderful experience working with Western Paver Design! Austin was very helpful with the entire process from quote through final walk through until we checked all the boxes. German and his team were hardworking, friendly, and skilled. German’s craftsmanship and design aesthetic really shined with a custom latching gate under the deck, framed lattice panels, and the picture framing on the deck. Love the permeable pavers to help with my drainage issues and all the quality materials and construction. This is a major upgrade to my house and I’m pleased with the investment. Artificial turf

We are so happy with are new artificial turf lawn. We always had problems with keeping our lawn green over the years as the sun hits it all day long. Joe suggested artificial turf, explained the process, and showed us a sample of the product. His crew showed up on time, and worked really hard at making sure we were happy with everything. Herringbone paver driveway

Our neighbors redid their driveway recently, and it was so beautiful we asked them who they used. It was Western Paver Design. So we gave them a call and Dan Mackenzie along with Roger and his team came out to our place, demoed our driveway and walkway, and installed a beautiful paver herringbone design. 80 ft retaining wall

Western Paver Design just replaced roughly 80 feet of retaining wall. They did an excellent job. They actually over built it. It’s twice as sturdy/stable as the prior one and I’m pretty sure that it could even withstand an earthquake. The finish design is very nice and they clean everything up and are extremely respectful of the property.

Western Paver Design offers custom concrete applications and installation. Concrete can be installed with different types of stamps. Stamp concrete is where we use a specific stamp as the concrete starts to dry to give the appearance of a stone/slate look or a look that incorporates lines throughout the new concrete pour. What concrete services do you offer in Portland?

We pour concrete patios, driveways, walkways, slabs, retaining walls and planter boxes throughout Portland and the surrounding metro, along with stamped and decorative finishes. We also demolish and haul away old, cracked concrete, so a replacement project runs start to finish with one crew.

Is concrete a good option for Portland’s rainy climate?

Yes, when it's built for the water. We compact a crushed-rock base, slope the surface so rain runs away from your house, and cut control joints so shrinkage cracks form along planned lines. Most concrete problems in Portland trace back to poor drainage, not the concrete itself.

How long does concrete last in Portland, Oregon?

Properly installed concrete can last for decades. What shortens its life here is water: a thin or poorly compacted base, surfaces that hold puddles, and freeze-thaw cycles working into cracks. We build the base, grading and joints to handle all three, so the slab stays sound.

Can concrete be poured in winter?

Yes, with planning. Concrete shouldn't be poured on frozen ground and needs protection from freezing until it gains strength, while heavy rain can mar a fresh finish. We schedule cool-season pours around the forecast, and curing simply takes longer. Drier months offer more scheduling flexibility.

Should I seal my concrete patio or driveway?

It's optional on plain broom-finish concrete, but worth considering in our climate. A good sealer slows water absorption, helping the surface resist freeze-thaw scaling and stains, and makes moss easier to clean off. Sealer matters more on exposed aggregate, stamped and colored finishes, and needs periodic reapplication.
