Paver driveway rebuild

I have had two paver driveways redone to accommodate the growth of existing trees. Fidel and crew did beautiful work. They completely pulled up the pavers, reconfigured the level, and placed every paver back with great care. I can’t recommend this company enough for their great work.

We had Western Paver and Design redo our backyard, including a retaining wall and extending our patio to create more usable outdoor space and it turned out absolutely perfect! It’s been two years since the project was completed, and everything still looks exactly like the day it was finished. Wonderful experience working with Western Paver Design! Austin was very helpful with the entire process from quote through final walk through until we checked all the boxes. German and his team were hardworking, friendly, and skilled. German’s craftsmanship and design aesthetic really shined with a custom latching gate under the deck, framed lattice panels, and the picture framing on the deck. Love the permeable pavers to help with my drainage issues and all the quality materials and construction. This is a major upgrade to my house and I’m pleased with the investment. Artificial turf

We are so happy with are new artificial turf lawn. We always had problems with keeping our lawn green over the years as the sun hits it all day long. Herringbone paver driveway

Our neighbors redid their driveway recently, and it was so beautiful we asked them who they used. It was Western Paver Design. 80 ft retaining wall

Western Paver Design just replaced roughly 80 feet of retaining wall. They did an excellent job. They actually over built it. It’s twice as sturdy/stable as the prior one and I’m pretty sure that it could even withstand an earthquake. The finish design is very nice and they clean everything up and are extremely respectful of the property.

Outdoor Lighting FAQs

What should outdoor lighting actually light?

Steps, grade changes and path edges first, because that's the safety layer. After that it's about effect: uplighting specimen trees, grazing a stone wall to bring out its texture, and lighting seating areas well enough to use after dark without glare in your eyes.

Can lighting be added to an existing patio or wall?

Frequently, yes, though routing wiring cleanly is easier on hardscape that's being built than on one that's finished. Fixtures built into steps and wall caps are best planned during construction, while path and accent lights can usually be added to an existing yard with little disruption.

Is low-voltage lighting worth it over solar?

For anything you rely on, yes. Low-voltage systems give consistent, controllable light on timers and hold up to weather, while solar fixtures dim through our long overcast months and wear out faster. Solar can still work for a few decorative accents where running wire isn't practical.

Should outdoor lights be warm white or cool white?

For most yards, warm white. It flatters wood, stone and planting and feels like lamplight, while cool white can look harsh on a patio, though it can suit some foliage and modern facades. Either way, a consistent color temperature keeps the yard looking like one design.

How many landscape lights does my yard need?

There's no per-square-foot rule. The count comes from what you want lit and how far each fixture reaches. Staggering path lights rather than lining both edges avoids a runway look, and a few well-aimed accents usually look better than many dim ones. We'll plan it with you.

Does LED landscape lighting need maintenance?

A little. Wipe lenses when dirt or hard-water spots dull them, clear fallen leaves off in-ground fixtures, trim plants that grow over lights, and straighten any that get bumped. As trees and shrubs fill in, re-aim accent lights so they still hit what they were meant to.

What are my options for lighting a deck?

Riser lights mark each step, post cap lights outline the edges, and lights tucked under the rail cap wash the floor without glare. Since we build decks too, we can hide the wiring inside the framing during construction, so it's worth deciding before the decking goes on.

Why did some of my landscape lights stop working?

Common causes: a tripped outlet, a timer out of sync, a loose or corroded connection, or a nicked cable. If a whole zone is dark, check the transformer and its outlet first. Our lighting warranty covers installation only, and fixtures carry manufacturer warranties that vary by manufacturer.
