Paver driveway rebuild

I have had two paver driveways redone to accommodate the growth of existing trees. Fidel and crew did beautiful work. They completely pulled up the pavers, reconfigured the level, and placed every paver back with great care. I can’t recommend this company enough for their great work.

We had Western Paver and Design redo our backyard, including a retaining wall and extending our patio to create more usable outdoor space and it turned out absolutely perfect! It’s been two years since the project was completed, and everything still looks exactly like the day it was finished. Western Paver Design recently installed a paver patio and louvered pergola for me and I am beyond pleased with the results! Wonderful experience working with Western Paver Design! Austin was very helpful with the entire process from quote through final walk through until we checked all the boxes. German and his team were hardworking, friendly, and skilled. German’s craftsmanship and design aesthetic really shined with a custom latching gate under the deck, framed lattice panels, and the picture framing on the deck. Love the permeable pavers to help with my drainage issues and all the quality materials and construction. This is a major upgrade to my house and I’m pleased with the investment. Artificial turf

We are so happy with are new artificial turf lawn. We always had problems with keeping our lawn green over the years as the sun hits it all day long. Joe suggested artificial turf, explained the process, and showed us a sample of the product. His crew showed up on time, and worked really hard at making sure we were happy with everything. Herringbone paver driveway

Our neighbors redid their driveway recently, and it was so beautiful we asked them who they used. It was Western Paver Design. So we gave them a call and Dan Mackenzie along with Roger and his team came out to our place, demoed our driveway and walkway, and installed a beautiful paver herringbone design. 80 ft retaining wall

Western Paver Design just replaced roughly 80 feet of retaining wall. They did an excellent job. They actually over built it. It’s twice as sturdy/stable as the prior one and I’m pretty sure that it could even withstand an earthquake. The finish design is very nice and they clean everything up and are extremely respectful of the property.

Avoid Cracks with a Paver Driveway

Paving stones are more durable than concrete and can withstand more pressure per square inch. Whether you use cement pavers or want stone driveway paving, paving bricks and stones are typically stronger than concrete and can hold more weight on the surface before a crack shows up. When and if a paver cracks, it’s an easy replacement, when concrete cracks in your driveway, unfortunately, there’s not much that can be done!

Driveway FAQs

Should I repair or replace my driveway?

It depends on whether the problem is the surface or the base beneath it. Surface cracking and spalling can sometimes be repaired on their own, but sinking, movement or cracks that keep returning usually mean the base or drainage has failed, and resurfacing over that only buys time.

What driveway materials do you install?

Paver driveways, poured and stamped concrete, and asphalt. Which one fits comes down to budget, how the driveway should look against the house, and site specifics like slope and drainage. We'll walk all three with you rather than steering you to one.

How long before I can drive on a new driveway?

It depends on the material — a paver driveway is ready essentially as soon as it's finished and compacted, while poured concrete needs curing time before it takes vehicle weight. We give you the specific hold time for your material at the walkthrough.

Is a new driveway covered by a warranty?

Paver driveways carry our 3-year workmanship warranty, and manufacturer material warranties on the pavers vary by manufacturer. Terms are set by service rather than one blanket policy, so if you're weighing concrete or asphalt, check our warranty page for what applies to that material.

Is financing available for a new driveway?

Yes. We offer financing through our trusted banking partners, with options starting at 0% APR for qualified buyers. Your detailed written proposal comes first, so you know the exact amount before you apply. We can walk you through the options at your free on-site design consultation.

Do I need a permit to replace my driveway?

It depends on your city and the scope. Replacing a driveway in place can be treated differently from widening it or changing where it meets the street, and rules vary between Portland and nearby cities. Confirm with your city first; we'll raise it at your consultation.

How do you keep driveway water out of the garage?

We grade the driveway to fall away from the garage and house, toward the street or another safe outlet. Where it has to slope down toward the garage, a channel drain across the opening catches water and carries it off before it reaches the garage floor.

Can a driveway be installed in the rainy season?

Often, between storms. Pavers tolerate damp weather better than poured surfaces, though excavation and base work need workable ground. Concrete needs a dry window to pour, and asphalt needs dry ground and mild temperatures. We watch the forecast and tell you early if a date moves.
